An authentic luxury retreat in rural China, Wuyuan Skywells captures the essence of a bygone era in the millennium-old Yan village. The Skywells project focused on the preservation rather than the modernization of a 300-year-old Huizhou-style property deep in East China’s Jiangxi Province.

The Oasia Hotel in the central business district Singapore is by all means and standards a unique project, redefining what a high-rise can be in humid tropical climates. In contrast with the conventional, completely sealed-off, air-conditioned tower, this hotel, designed by local office WOHA, merges architecture and nature, and combines indoor and outdoor spaces in a striking fashion.

The Eden at Spiez near Thunersee is a traditional, superior hotel in an exposed position.

The Eden Spiez, a hotel rich in tradition which had been established already in 1903, was re-opened in 2006 after complete reconstruction. In 2010, a conference centre with parking garage was added, and by the end of 2017, it was transformed into a “Wellness and Enjoyment Hotel”. The basis for this was a comprehensive interior design concept developed by Jaeggi Architekten for a combination of the existing wellness area (inclusive of the panorama indoor swimming pool) with the new facilities. For this, the plans of the office J. Höhn + Partner from Thun provided a two-storey extension adjoining the existing indoor swimming pool.
